This Cabernet Sauvignon, made entirely of fruit from McElmo Canyon, presents nice aromas of dark fruits with nuances of oak, vanilla and light smoke. The flavors showcase dark cherry, ripe plum and black current. The tannins are medium structured with slight tobacco, dark chocolate, black pepper, mocha and fine herbaceous flavors. The color has inky red intensity and the finish is medium but firm. Grilled steaks and red meats are perfect for this wine.

2003 Crooked Creek   SYRAH                                                         $14.00 / bottle
Our first varietal bottled Syrah shows beautiful red fruit and floral scents. It was aged in French oak barrels for 15 months and is medium bodied. You can explore wonderful flavors of cherry, prune and raspberry supported by moderate tannins and fresh acidity. The wine is made in a youthful style framed by light oak, dark spice and vanilla. It has a nice ruby red color and a great finish. An excellent wine for the Mediterranean kitchen.

2004 GUY DREW VINEYARDS METATE                                      $30.00 / bottle
( ma-‘tat-e ) a stone with a concave upper surface used as the bottom millstone for grinding grains especially maize.
When planting the estate vineyard, we encountered many ancient ruins. Scattered among the ruins were metate stones left by the Anasazi. Each year this wine is a blend of the best barrels from our cellar, usually from estate fruit. The 2004 is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, 16% Syrah and 16% Petit Verdot.
Only 70 cases were produced.

As one of our favorite and signature varieties, this Riesling is loaded with interesting apricot, citrus, nutmeg and green apple flavors. The color is straw yellow and green. It exhibits a varietaly typical crisp and bright acidity. It is light and reveals some nutty nuances with a fresh and clean finish.
